Westbound traffic on I-80 resumed Saturday morning for the first time since March. Eastbound lane closures will continue at night.
The Utah Department of Transportation is repaving Interstate 80 west of Kimball Junction to east of U.S. 40, starting June 16, and the department said they anticipate the work will continue through fall. The project is intended to extend the life of the roadway and provide a smoother ride for drivers, UDOT said.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation says one of two open westbound lanes will be closed during overnight hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday into the early hours of Thursday morning. On Friday, all westbound lanes will be closed and detoured for final paving and restriping.
