Gov. Kim Reynolds on Thursday announced plans to deploy the Iowa National Guard, match $1 million in food bank donations and recruit volunteers to help feed families if federal SNAP benefits stop Nov.

Now in its fourth week, the ongoing federal government shutdown will likely delay food benefits for millions of Californians — prompting Gov. Gavin Newsom to set aside $80 million in state support and deploy the California National Guard to assist food banks.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster is set to provide an update regarding SNAP benefits in the state. The governor’s office said McMaster will announce Tuesday that the Central Carolina Community Foundation has activated the One SC Fund.

National Guard troops deployed in Washington, DC will remain mobilized in the city at least through February 2026, according to people familiar with the Guard’s orders.

Governor Gavin Newsom has deployed California Volunteers and the California National Guard to assist food banks across the state to provide emergency food aid to millions of Californians affected by the federal government shutdown.

Many Nevada National Guard members are not getting paid during the federal shutdown. Some are working without pay, some are furloughed without pay. The Army and Air monthly training drills were not held in October, causing thousands to miss a monthly paycheck.
