Firefighters continued their battle against the devastating fires burning in L.A. County Wednesday. But as dangerous fire weather subsided, there was growing despair and frustration among residents desperate to see what's left of their homes.

At least 25 people are believed to be dead and more than a dozen others remain unaccounted for as multiple wildfires rage across Southern California.

Officials are bracing for the return of fierce Santa Ana winds as they try to contain several large blazes across the Los Angeles area.
