Drugmaker Eli Lilly is now offering a half-price version of its top-selling insulin, as companies face criticism about out of control prescription drug prices.

Eli Lilly & Company LLY announced plans to launch lower-priced versions of two of its insulin product, Humalog – Humalog Mix75/25 KwikPen and Humalog Junior KwikPen.

Those figures are half the list price Lilly charges for Humalog. The fast-acting insulin, which diabetics inject shortly before each meal, is used by about 700,000 Americans.
