PITTSBURGH -- DK Metcalf will not wear No. 14 for the first time in his football career. Instead, he is switching to No. 4, the first Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver to wear a single digit. Metcalf said he never even tried to get the No. 14 away from George Pickens.

One way or another, DK Metcalf and George Pickens could put on a show as a one-two punch for a Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback to be named later. Social media users quickly put together highlight packages after the Steelers traded for Metcalf on Sunday night.

DK Metcalf is hitting the ground running in Pittsburgh attempting to make the smoothest transition possible into Steeler nation. Many times, when a player joins a new team in the NFL, they’ll immediately go to the guy wearing their jersey number and attempt to persuade them out of it.

It all started Sunday with a phone call with Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, general manager Omar Khan and team president Art Rooney II. The trio of decision makers answered the former Seattle Seahawk’s trade request, and then Pittsburgh promptly extended the two-time Pro Bowler with a handsome new five-year, $150 million contract.
