A semi-truck crashed Tuesday afternoon on a Metro Detroit interstate, causing several interstate ramps and a nearby roadway to close. The crash happened around 2:35 p.m. on I-94 at Merriman Road near the Detroit Metro Airport. All lanes of travel have since reopened.

Both directions of Merriman Road near Interstate 94 in Romulus were closed Tuesday afternoon after a crash involving a semi truck, according to police. Officials said the driver of the semi truck lost control of the truck and struck the center median guardrail at 3 p.

According to MSP, a preliminary investigation showed the semi driving east on I-94 when he lost control, crashed into the center median guardrail and fell onto Merriman Road. The semi-driver then struck the median divider wall on Merriman Road before his trailer overturned.
