Police arrested 26-year-old Jamir Wilson on suspicion of a hit-and-run crash that killed 17-year-old Jeana Louis Santos Flores.

A suspect has been arrested in a fatal hit-and-run last month that left a 17-year-old girl lying dead on the side of the road. The Antioch Police Department announced on Tuesday that it had arrested 26-year-old Jamir Wilson in connection to the case.

The long awaited police substation at the Sycamore Square shopping center will be officiated in February in hopes to increase police visibility in the area.

Police say the 17-year-old girl found dead on the side of an Antioch road was the victim of a hit-and-run, and they are now searching for the driver who hit her.

Jeana Louis Santos Flores, 17, was found lying on the shoulder of the road at approximately 3:33 a.m. on Friday morning.

The first piece of Antioch's new Chinatown, a grocery store, opened Friday, and there are more projects in the works.

On Friday at about 8:40 p.m., officers were alerted to gunshots via the city's ShotSpotter technology in the 2300 block of Buchanan Road. Police arrived and found evidence of a shooting and learned that a 42-year-old woman was brought to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. She was treated and is expected to survive.
