In the opening moments of the third quarter of a tied game, after Tori McKinney had missed a three-pointer, Gophers center Sophie Hart waded into the lane, got the offensive board, was fouled and went to the line.

Hart was key in limiting Wisconsin’s standout forward Serah Williams to 16 points and six rebounds, but just four points and two rebounds in the final 20 minutes. One of the two players nationally averaging a double-double, Williams entered averaging 18.7 and a conference-best 11.4 rebounds per game.

The 23rd-ranked Gophers women's basketball team let arch-rival Wisconsin hang around for a while through the first half but dominated the second half on its way to a 71-50 blowout victory Sunday afternoon at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.

Tonje dropped 27 points, 15 of which arrived in the first frame, and corralled five rebounds in 29 minutes of action. Sophomore guard John Blackwell finished with 14 points and four boards, Kamari McGee scored 11 points and nailed three three-pointers off the bench and Max Klesmit chipped in with eight points and seven rebounds.

The graduate guard scored 27 points and the Badgers hit 17 three-pointers in an 83-55 victory over the Cornhuskers Sunday at the Kohl Center.
