Memphis should expect anywhere from 1 to 2 inches of snow starting Tuesday night. Frigid temperatures will stick around through the weekend.

More severe weather is on the way. Directly after intense rainfall, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for parts of Middle Tennessee.

A storm on its way to the Carolinas could blanket much of N.C. with a thick layer of snow. Raleigh and Chapel Hill could get around 2 inches of snow, while up to 3 inches are expected in Durham between now and Thursday, The News & Observer reported.
