The parade will feature approximately 6,700 soldiers, 150 military vehicles, and 50 helicopters. The official route will begin on Constitution Avenue by the Lincoln Memorial and end near 15th Street;

Any damage to Washington, D.C., city streets during the massive parade planned for June 14 will be paid for by the Army, officials told reporters.

The Army started preparations on Wednesday for transporting Abrams tanks for the upcoming military parade on June 14 in honor of Flag Day.

Army Col. Kamil Sztalkoper, a spokesman for the III Armored Corps, said the dog is a Blue Heeler (aka an Australian Cattle Dog) named "Doc Holliday" -- likely a nod to the famous Civil War-era gunslinger played by Val Kilmer in the movie "Tombstone."

As part of the Army’s 150th birthday celebration on June 14, 28 M1 Abrams tanks will roll down Constitution Avenue. The tanks will be trucked to a staging area closer to the parade route. The celebration and parade will coincide with President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.
