JetBlue and United Airlines’ new partnership, called Blue Sky, launched on Thursday. It’s not a code share, but a program that allows travelers on each airline to earn and redeem points on the other.

A United Airlines flight diverted to Salt Lake City after the pilots discovered a crack in one of the layers of the windshield. A weather balloon hitting the windshield may have been the culprit.

United is reportedly adding 10 new and resuming domestic routes after securing additional gates at Chicago O'Hare earlier this year. Crain's Chicago Business reported Thursday morning that the carrier is launching new year-round and seasonal flights, mostly targeting smaller markets in the West and Midwest.

The airline says the routes were made possible by the additional space it won through the city’s airport gate reallocation process this fall.
