With little say in the ongoing debate over redrawing congressional districts​ in their home state, Texas Democratic state legislators are looking beyond their borders for help.

Two groups of Democrats left Texas to confer with Govs. Gavin Newsom and JB Pritzker, who have suggested their Democratic-controlled states could counter a Texas Republican gerrymander.

As Texas, under pressure from President Trump, considers redrawing congressional lines to boost GOP numbers in Congress, California considers responding by boosting the state's Democratic districts.
