Nevada Democrats still hold the power in the state Legislature but have fallen short of winning a two-thirds supermajority in both houses that would have stripped Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo of his veto power.

While Democrats nationally react to stinging losses in the presidential race and U.S. Senate, Democratic lawmakers in Oregon received a boost in this fall’s election, flipping a key seat in the Legislature to expand their control in the state Senate.

The Democrat-favoring partisan balance in the Colorado Legislature will look similar to the previous two years, based on early results from Tuesday’s election, though a couple of races remain too close to call as of publication time.
