The Canadian star challenged the all-time mark in the women's 200-meter butterfly and continued her perfect string of races in Singapore.

McIntosh is aiming to win five gold medals in individual events at the worlds in Singapore, and the first one came Sunday in the 400-meter freestyle on the first of eight days in the pool. Only legendary American Michael Phelps has ever won five individual medals in the worlds. He also did it at the Olympics.

It was McIntosh’s third gold of the week. Her 2:01.99 was the second-fastest women’s 200 butterfly ever and set a Canadian record. Regan Smith of the United States finished second in 2:04.99, a full three seconds behind McIntosh.
