The Patriots’ other projected starting cornerback, Carlton Davis, has yet to fully participate in a practice since camp began. The nature and severity of Davis’ injury were unclear as of Wednesday. Before one practice last week, Vrabel said the offseason signing would be sidelined for a “maintenance day.”

Patriots star defensive back Christian Gonzalez won’t see the practice field at Gillette Stadium until at least early August as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Coach Mike Vrabel said on Wednesday that he doesn’t expect Gonzalez to be on the field for the rest of the week.
