Residents in southern California are in the middle of a "Particularly Dangerous Situation" as wind stays in the forecast with still raging wildfires, according to officials.

The NWS has reissued a 'particularly dangerous situation' warning for swaths of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, cautioning of high wind gusts, dry air and a higher risk of rapid fire spread and extreme fire behavior.

A red flag warning has been issued through Wednesday in Southern California because of potentially dangerous fire conditions. The National Weather Service issues red flag warnings when threatening wildfire conditions are more likely.

As fires in the region remain uncontained, L.A. officials say they’re “ready” for an incoming new round of strong winds.

Although winds were weaker than expected Tuesday in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, windy conditions are expected to intensify late in the evening before another "Particularly Dangerous Situation" red flag warning takes effect again,
