Lando Norris enjoyed a clear advantage in FP3 at the Mexico City Grand Prix while Max Verstappen and title leader Oscar Piastri struggled for pace.
In a tensely-contested session, the 25-year-old Briton, who is 14 points behind McLaren teammate Piastri in the drivers’ championship, clocked a fastest lap in one minute and 16.633 seconds to outpace seven-time champion Hamilton by 0.345.
MEXICO CITY - Lando Norris was top in final practice for the Mexico City Formula One Grand Prix on Saturday with championship-leading McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri fifth and Red Bull rival Max Verstappen sixth.
The gap from the McLaren man to the next fastest car (Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton) was 0.345sec but from there down there was less than three-tenths separating Hamilton from Kimi Antonelli in seventh. George Russell was third with Charles Leclerc fourth, both more than half a second away from Norris’s ultimate time.
