First- and second-round tee times for the 156-player field at the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, were officially released Tuesday.
OAKMONT, Pa. — Tyrrell Hatton, in the mix in the final round of a major for the first time in the late Sunday gloom at the U.S. Open, watched his tee shot on the 17th hole drift to the right and exhaled. The third round of the U.S. Open on June 14 at the Oakmont Country Club will begin at 9:12 a.m. when Philip Barbaree tees off as a single player, due to an odd number making the 7-over cut. The last twosome of leader Sam Burns (3-under) and J.J. Spaun (2-under) will tee off at 3:35 p.m.
McIlroy, who ended his major drought by beating Englishman Rose in a play-off to complete the career Grand Slam at Augusta National in April, won his solitary US Open in 2011. Rose claimed his only major title at the 2013 US Open.
There’s no such thing as a quick 18 holes at the U.S. Open, particularly when it’s at Oakmont. Players needed 5½ hours or more to get through each of the opening two rounds.
