Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry (R) called on his state’s flagship university to honor the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk by erecting a statue of him on campus. In a video posted to the social platform X,

"We're going to put a challenge out to the LSU Board of Supervisors to find a place to put a statue of Charlie Kirk to defend the freedom of speech on college campuses," the governor said in a video posted on social media.
