Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on Tuesday said the company plans to invest $3 billion in India on AI and cloud infrastructure over the next two years.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced the $3 billion investment into India's AI and cloud computing infrastructure after a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 6.

Microsoft will invest around $3 billion in expanding artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing capacity in India. CEO Satya Nadella announced the investment commitment during the Microsoft AI Tour in Bengaluru earlier today, January 7.

Microsoft chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, during his visit to India, has announced the company’s plans to invest $3 billion in India in cloud, AI infrastructure, and skilling over the next two years, including the establishment of new data centers. This is the single largest expansion Microsoft has done in India, he said.
