The number of people booked into immigration detention who have been charged only with immigration violations has jumped eight-fold since President Donald Trump took office, government data shows, undercutting his anti-crime message.

Protesters gathered near the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office at Valencia and Country Club on Wednesday afternoon, rallying against recent federal immigration enforcement actions.

The LA-area mayors and city council members urged Trump to stop using armed military troops alongside immigration agents.

Thousands of people nationwide have shown up at demonstrations and rallies opposing Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids.

Protests have spread across America following days of demonstrations in Los Angeles against immigration raids by the federal government.

“I don’t feel like a king,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “I have to go through hell to get stuff approved.”

Fiscal year 2024 saw a 90% increase in deportations compared to 2023 and a 276% increase compared to 2022.

Demonstrators joined the fight as they protested outside the ICE office in Detroit.

Hundreds have been arrested.
