Changes to Florida sales tax holidays give parents some extra time to save on back-to-school supplies this year, however. Rather than two weeks of tax exemptions, Florida has made back-to-school supplies and some related items tax-free through the entire month of August.

Florida's sales tax holiday for back-to-school shoppers is officially underway. Shoppers can avoid paying sales taxes on clothes, shoes and backpacks that cost $100 or less, school supplies that cost $50 or less and personal computers that cost $1,500 or less. The tax holiday lasts the entire month of August.
