MANILA (Reuters) -Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr will retain his trade, finance, budget and economic planning ministers but will replace the foreign minister in an overhaul of his cabinet, his executive secretary said on Friday.

Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was elected president in 2022 and has three years remaining of his single six-year term, which concludes in 2028. In the recently concluded election, only six of the senate candidates endorsed by Marcos secured seats, a result below expectations.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thrusday asked all of his Cabinet secretaries to submit resignations in a “bold reset” of his administration following last week’s mid-term elections, which saw more opposition candidates win crucial Senate seats.
