Hibernian issue a statement saying they continue to back head coach David Gray despite a seven-game run without a victory.

Hibernian’s board of directors have given their backing to head coach David Gray amid a run of results that has the side sitting at the bottom of the Premiership. Speculation about Gray’s position had grown after Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to St Mirren.

David Gray could have been fired at half-time of that St Mirren shambles. I actually felt sure the trigger would be pulled on him once Saturday’s game was finished. But it wasn’t. Hibs chiefs last night went public to declare it wouldn’t be following talks.

It didn't look like a coherent plan, more a case of Gray's patience finally running out with the players who have constantly let him down this season. In the week running up to the game, we heard from Martin Boyle and Joe Newell about how they had let the gaffer down.
