The California Highway Patrol has made over 300 arrests in Oakland since they're presence was drastically increased in July, Gov. Gavin Newsom said.

It’s been two months since California Governor Gavin Newsom increased deployment to an East Bay law enforcement surge operation that began in February. On Tuesday, the governor’s office announced California Highway Patrol’s recovery of over 600 stolen vehicles and over 300 arrests made since the escalation in July.

The California Highway Patrol has made 329 arrests, recovered 606 stolen vehicles and seized 35 firearms in two months, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced on Tuesday.
