The Bruins entered the year talking about playoff contention. Dealing Zacha for anything other than somebody who can help the roster right now, means they’re pulling the plug, just 10 games into the season. To do that, they’d have to fetch a pretty hefty combination of draft picks and prospects.
During the off-season, former Boston Bruins goalie Dan Vladar signed a two-year, $6.7 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers. This was after the 28-year-old recorded a 12-11-6 record, a 2.80 goals-against average, and a .898 save percentage in 30 games.
Jake Sanderson had three assists, and Fabian Zetterlund had a goal and an assist for the Senators (5-4-1), who have won three straight and are 3-0-1 in their past four games. Leevi Merilainen made 26 saves for his first win of the season; he was recalled from a conditioning stint with Belleville of the American Hockey League on Thursday.
