To catch up with the competition, Bezos plans to rapidly deploy the rest of the Kuiper constellation in the coming months and years.

Jeff Bezos-owned Amazon's Project Kuiper mission took its first flight today. The United Launch Alliance's (ULA) Atlas V rocket lifted off at 4:31 am IST from Cape Canaveral in Florida with 27 broadband satellites, all of which were successfully deployed in orbit 450 kilometres above Earth.

The launch marks the beginning of Amazon’s effort to deploy a constellation of 3,236 satellites designed to deliver internet coverage to underserved and remote regions across the globe.
