We will be visiting Marostica and attending the Sunday chess event in September (have our tickets already). Can anyone tell us what it will be like in Marostica during that weekend? Are there things to do going on in the town, can you still get in and tour the castle and other sights, do you need reservations for any of that? Do the crowds fill the town restaurants, so you can't get tables and need reservations in advance? Is anything open or does the town shut down except for the chess pagaent? We plan to go early and explore the town, but I wasn't sure if that was a good idea given the expected crowds.

Actually I do not know if they are going to change the rules for the Partita a scacchi, I suggest you to give a call to the tourist infopoint: +39 0424 72127, after 9,00 am.
