Great explanation on Waves of immigration of Jews to Shanghai with great displays. Good for Middle school age and up. It has a small gift shop and cafe.Full review by Kifaro1

Hi you don't need to have a tour guide to visit this historical place. This shows you how one man helped so many people to leave the horror of the Nazis in Europe. I took a cab to the museum which has audio guides and movies, then walked around the neighborhood and visited all the places mentioned in all the books on Shanghai. China is simply amazing in terms of fascinating discovery of thousand years of history, art, philosophy, sciences, medicine, ....The Chinese people are truly hospitable and kind and fun...

I am not sure how far the museum is from the cruise ship, but I am sure Google Maps could answer that. Taxi's are very inexpensive, and I would think it would be a pretty inexpensive cab ride. However, we didn't just visit the museum, we took a tour which I highly recommend. The museum is pretty small and the tour included the area around the museum and lots of history.
