I plan to do this hike at the end of September this year and I'm hoping to get some feedback from this forum! I am nervous about doing this hike - the hardest hike I've ever done was 15km with 710m elevation and it took us 8 hours to do and I was so terribly sore the next day, I could barely do anything. Will I survive the Skyline Trail? We plan to complete the Skyline Trail in 3 days, 2 nights. My cardio is not great and I will soon be going to the gym every day in preparation. I would appreciate any thoughts or recommendations! Thanks.

If you are going to do the trail in 2d/1n, your best bet is to stay at the Curator campground (plan ahead as it's a popular site). I stayed at the lodge (Shovel Pass Lodge) 200 m from the curator campground which allowed us to hike with a lot less weight (no tent, no sleeping bags, no meals). The second day will be longer and a bit more of a challenge as you need to reach the Notch. We met few people who did it in 3 days (one family in 4 days) but most did it in 2, those staying at the lodge did it in 2. I am an avid hiker and it was a challenge even with a lighter pack but it's worth every step. Took lots of breaks, the benefits of hiking in the summer months when the sun sets at 11 pm. Good luck!
