What a wonderful view of the NY skyline from here. This park is huge and so many places that you can have your own picnic (bring your food from home). Paid parking is plenty. I recommend coming in… Full review by Moe_Ipak

If I take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty, can I jump on a returning ferry or do I have to stay for a certain amount of time? I don't want to actually see anything except the outside of the Statue of Liberty. So how long is the ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty? How do I get back to NJ shore?

If all you'd like to see is the outside of the statue, you could see it from the shore or hire a water taxi or find an enterprising boater who will take you for a spin for a negotiated rate. Self driving a boat (boat rental) is not recommended because there may be restricted areas about the harbor.
