This memorial is so beautiful, however as the soldiers are in formation it truly hits you far more than many other memorials. Allow yourself time to explore and contemplate. Do not be surprised if yo… Full review by FIL M
That is not Alan Alda on the Korean War Memorial Wall. That is Corporal Harry H. Reed M Company 19th Regiment 24th Division who is my Father.. There are two other men from M Company on either side of him. To the left is Private Clepper and to the right is Corporal Joseph Magrum. Please stop promoting this story. Thanks, Harry H. Reed II

I well-up when I visit the memorial. It triggers an understanding of what our brave solders experiences and endured. The expressions on the faces show the emotional aspects of being on patrol. They are vigilant fearful and even bored For monotony. I hope your dad survived and could see this heart rendering memorial. God bless him and all who serve out great nation.

My husband and I are visiting the Washington DC area in Nov 2016. We are not touring on a bus, just the two of us. How do I find prices for various things to do and see?

All of the Smithsonian Museums are also free of charge. This includes the Air and Space Museum, the Museum of Native Americans, the Botanical Gardens, the National Art Gallery, and many more. Walking in Washington is a joy as is taking a driving tour--if you have a car anyway. Some hidden treasures include Embassy Row--the Embassies of Countries from around the world, Rock Creek Park right in the heart of the city--a national park (and all of the National Parks are free or nearly so). A little bit of planning using a travel guide on the Internet will show you some of the possibilities. Come to Washington and enjoy.

The memorials are free, if you want to go up into the Washington Monument I would find out what day you will be there and pay the small fee online and get them ASAP!!
