Hi, I think the time on the ticket (e.g. 24 hours) usually starts from the time you buy it, but worth asking the vendor if you can buy a ticket to start at a later time / date. One point to note, if you buy a ticket at, for example, 11am on one day, it will then run to 11am on the second day (or third day if it's a 48-hour ticket) so depending on the time you buy, you can use the ticket on more than one day. Hope that makes sense.
What if I miss the hop on hop off bus on the bus stop? Will there be more buses that I can catch?

Unlikely! They will either be full or you’ll have no idea where to catch it as there are no clear bus stops. My advise is either get a tuck tuck or get the bus but don’t get off it.

I don't think this metro airport bus station is one of the hop 0n hop off bus station. You can buy the ticket directly with the bus attendance. If you book in advance on website you may save a few dollars. The ticket is based on calendar date. You can get on and off as many times as you want during the day. There is extended route bus stop that goes to Madrid soccer stadium and other places which you need to pay a little bit more just tell the attendnace that you want to pay for the extended route on the date that you plan to go.
